Who Are We?

Welcome, New Canaan

Our goal is to provide you with information regarding mental, behavioral, emotional health and intelligence.

We hope to be a steadfast and evolving resource in meeting you where you are. We invite you to participate in an ongoing and inclusive discussion about emotions. Life spins, leaving us feeling lost, weary, confused, and isolated. Maladaptive behaviors serve a temporary purpose but ultimately marry with shame- a powerfully repetitive cycle we can find ourselves swallowed by. There are ways out. You are never alone. Sometimes we need more perspective to build on practices already established that need a bit of refreshing and continued education.

We have found it essential to create a circle of support to help us solve the things that come up so we can better understand ourselves and one another.

Let’s Talk About It New Canaan.

Mission

Our mission is to demystify and destigmatize the language around emotional health, with non-judgmental, data driven information to help you, residents of New Canaan, lean into a deeper understanding of what mental, behavioral, and emotional health and intelligence looks like.

Mental health challenges and problematic drug or alcohol use are uncomfortable and often misunderstood topics – everywhere in society, especially in New Canaan. Yet we know that nearly 50% of the population* are individually struggling with those issues, touching virtually every family locally and nationally. As a small town, we can balance the desire for privacy with the strength of our connections, relationships, and resources to help individuals get the help they need.

The community is the healer. New Canaan is the healer.

Healthier communities begin with neighbors helping neighbors:

 – Making it socially acceptable to talk about these challenges removes the associated stigma preventing access to proper care and
 – Ensures a coordinated array of mental health services are made available

With Gratitude

It takes vulnerability, consistent practice, and perseverance to dig deep within and live a wholehearted, authentic, and transformative life.
It takes the same vulnerability to keep seeking resources that resonate and inspire you to acknowledge areas for growth.
Thank you for choosing to journey on this path;
in doing so, we can, in a variety of ways, and as a community, support one another to be our best selves.

Staying Curious

Like you, we are human; always intent on the forward march, while embracing that stumbling, pausing, taking steps back as well as leaps forward all encompass the beautiful process of becoming more connected to humanity and our community.

We believe each day is a new opportunity, in practice, to do better and become better versions of ourselves. If you believe there is room for improvement in a particular section on this site or would like to contribute your perspective in enhancing or expanding the voice we are open to having that discussion with you.
